Consolidations or Transfers
Upon expiration of its term in November 1864, the veterans and recruits of the 18th Ohio Infantry (Three Years’ Service) were consolidated with those of the 35th Ohio Infantry, forming the 18th Veteran Ohio Infantry. Later, the 18th Veteran regiment was organized by consolidation of veterans and recruits from the 1st, 2nd, 18th, 24th, and 35th Ohio Infantry regiments.
