Consolidations or Transfers

On January 17, 1865, the 48th Ohio Infantry (Three Years’ Service) was consolidated with the 83rd Ohio Infantry. Later, a battalion of six companies was formed by consolidating the 83rd and 114th Ohio Infantry regiments. Some companies were mustered out in October 1865, with the remainder serving until May 9, 1866.
