Consolidations or Transfers
Upon expiration of the regiment’s term of service in August 1864, reenlisted veterans and recruits whose service had not expired were transferred to the 68th Indiana Infantry. Nineteen men remaining in service at the final muster-out of the 68th were transferred to the 44th Indiana Infantry and mustered out with that regiment on September 14, 1865.
