This company was permanently detached as the 12th Battery, Ohio Light Artillery, on March 17, 1862. A new Company D was organized in October 1864 and assigned to the regiment. Records for both original and reconstituted Company D are incomplete in surviving sources.

Consolidations or Transfers

Company D was detached as the 12th Battery, Ohio Light Artillery, in March 1862. A new Company D was organized and assigned in October 1864. The regiment retained veterans and recruits in service until June 1866, after the original members (except veterans) were mustered out in July 1864.
