Two Hundred and Fourteenth Infantry. — Col., David B.
McKibbin; Lieut. -Col., William H. Harrison; Maj., Charles H. Addicks.
This regiment was raised in Philadelphia and the counties of Lancaster
and Northampton, and was mustered into the U. S. service at Philadelphia
in March, 1865, for a term of one year. It joined the troops under Gen.
Egan in the Shenandoah Valley and remained there until July, when it
became a part of the force employed in the defenses of Washington. A
detachment spent the winter of 1865-66 on guard duty at Annapolis and on
March 21, 1866, the 214th was mustered out at Philadelphia. |
