Regimental History
Two Hundred and Thirteenth Infantry. — Col., John A. Gorgas; Lieut. -Col., Jacob M. Davis; Maj., Enos R. Artman. The 213th was recruited in the city of Philadelphia and the counties of Berks, Juniata and Chester, and was mustered into the U. S. service at Philadelphia, March 2, 1865, for a term of one year. It was ordered to Annapolis and guarded Camp Parole until April. A detachment was posted on guard on the Baltimore & Ohio railroad near Frederick City and in April the entire command proceeded to Washington, where it remained employed in guard duty until Nov. 18, 1865, when it was mustered out.
