Regimental History
One Hundred and Sixty-seventh Infantry. — Cols., Charles A. Knoderer, Joseph De Puy Davis; Lieut. -Cols., Joseph De Puy Davis, Gustav A. Worth; Majs., Gustav A. Worth, Jonathan Lee. This regiment, composed of members from Bucks county, was organized at Reading from Nov. 10 to Dec. 6, 1862, when it entered the service of the United States for a nine months term. In December it joined the force under Gen. Peck at Suffolk and was closely engaged at Deserted House, Jan. 30, 1863, where Col. Knoderer was fatally wounded. The regiment shared in the successful stand at Suffolk against the attack and siege by Gen. Longstreet, after which it joined in the movement toward Richmond and in July joined the Army of the Potomac. Assigned to the 1st brigade, 1st division, 1st corps, it participated in the pursuit of Gen. Lee until Aug. 12, when it was mustered out at Harrisburg.
