96th Indiana Infantry

Ninety-sixth Indiana Infantry. — Under the call of July, 1862, this regiment was authorized to be recruited from the 6th Congressional district, with rendezvous at Indianapolis. But three companies were recruited and these were assigned to the 99th, then being organized at South Bend.
