Banning; Lieut.-Col., John Faskin : Maj., Samuel L. Leffingwell. This regiment was organized at Camp Chase, June 10, 1862, to serve for three months. It was first sent to Baltimore, Md., and after some weeks there was stationed at Harper's Ferry, where it was unfortunate enough to be included in the surrender of the Federal forces.
