Regimental History
One Hundred and Sixty-sixth Infantry. — Col., Harrison G. Blake; Lieut-Col., Randolph Eastman; Maj., Robert E. Leggett. This regiment was organized at Camp Cleveland, May 13 and 15, 1864, to serve for 100 days. It was composed of the 63d regiment, Ohio National Guard, from Huron county; 59th battalion, from Holmes county; 79th battalion, from Medina county; and one company of the 52nd battalion, from Wayne county. Immediately after muster-in it proceeded to Virginia and was placed on duty at Forts Richardson, Barnard, Reynolds, Ward and Worth, with headquarters at Fort Richardson. It returned to Ohio, and was mustered out on Sept. 9, 1864, on expiration of its term of service.Footnotes:
